Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Thank you for choosing Just Paws to groom your pet!

As in any business that works out of an appointment book, our daily schedule depends upon appointments being kept.

Each day we have a fixed number of of spaces available for grooming and boarding. We always look forward to to seeing all of your smiling faces & wagging tails! Because of this fixed number, we do have a stand-by list of friends waiting to get in.

If you find that you won’t be able to keep your scheduled appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice for grooming and 72 hours for boarding so that we can call our stand-by guys. If you cancel the morning of your appointment, chances are we won’t be able to contact them in time to replace your appointment. Of course, we understand that unexpected things can happen; however when a no-show or last minute cancelations happens, our groomer(s) do not get paid.

No-shows are very disappointing to us - that’s when someone doesn’t show up for their appointment, doesn’t contact us & we can’t get in touch with them. What happened? Even though we make reminder calls/texts the day before, we always give folks the benefit of the doubt & think perhaps they forgot or didn’t get our message.

If you are a established client, meaning 6 or more regular 4-12 week grooms,  no-show appointments and less than 24hr cancellations,  will be charged a non refundable $25 no-show fee, 3 or more no-shows will require full payment in advance when scheduling your next appointment and is non-refundable. So be sure to call to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.

For non established clients, meaning we have seen your pet less than 6 times for a regular grooming appointment, a no-show or less than 24hr cancellation appointment will be charged for a full groom small dog price of a non refundable $45 and all future groom appointments will require full payments in advance.

ALL clients will require to have a credit card on file when scheduling all appointments. We will only charge the amount stated above for no-shows and less than 24 hr cancellations. We are sorry for any inconvenience, however no-shows and last minute cancellations are a inconvenience for our groomers, as well.  Thank you and we look forward to serving you!

Entering and Exiting the Facility

We ask that you please have all dogs on a leash when entering and exiting the salon. This is to ensure the safety of your pet and others. Cats need to be in a carrier for safe transport to and from the salon. The last thing we want is for a pet to get away or cause issues with another client and their pet. If everyone is on a leash and/or a crate then it helps to eliminate issues.

Appointment Arrival Times

We have specific times for our grooms throughout the day. Please arrive promptly for your appointment but if you know you will be late then please call us as a courtesy. If in the event that you arrive more than 30 minutes late then a extra fee may apply. Also keep in mind that if you are late then your pet may not get started on until it is convenient for the groomer. We don't wish for them to stay any later than necessary so your timely manner is much appreciated.

The Grooming Process

There are several things to keep in mind when your dog or cat is being groomed. First thing your groomer will do is start the rough in cut. All pets will then be bathed. Depending on how well you pet handles the dryers, it is difficult to know how long your pet will take to be dried. We aim to have all pets done within a 3-4 hour window, but this is not always possible. After your pet dries, the groomer will then do the finishing touches such as clip and/or dremel nails, clean the ears, and then put the finishing touches in the grooming process. Some pets may or may not like being brushed, and if they have mats it can be a time consuming process. Mats that are too close to the skin may need to be cut out for the comfort of your pet. You will always have the opportunity to speak with your groomer when you drop off, but keep in mind there is only so much we can do when a dog or cat has severe matting. If we cannot do what you ask, we will notify you of other options. In some cases it is best to just start over and put your pet on a good maintenance program. The groomer can speak with you after the groom to give you advice on how often you should bring them in, brushes, and other thinks to help maintain your pet’s coat.

Tipping Your Groomer

If you are pleased with the service you have received we encourage you to show your appreciation to your groomer. Although not required, a gratuity is a powerful way to say "I appreciate your work." Even a note from you, simply saying "thanks for a job well done" means a great deal.

Scheduling

Just Paws appointments are typically scheduled between 8:30 - noon, but in some cases you may be able to book a later appointment. Appointments after 12pm need to be scheduled with the groomer and do have a $10 afternoon fee added. In order to book your appointment closest to your desired day/time, it’s helpful to know your schedule preferences. The grooming process takes 2-4 hours on most pets, but remember that things like matting or other circumstances may cause your groom to take longer. PLEASE don't schedule your appointment knowing that you have limited time. Your pet may go home unfinished but will still be charged for the full service.

Satisfaction

Our groomers will always work to give your pet the cut that you want, however, keep in mind that your pets comfort and health are always our number one priority. We cannot send a dog or cat home with in an unhealthy state. We will always keep notes on how your pet was done for the groom. If you are unsatisfied with the groom, please let us know before you leave the shop so that the groomer can make any necessary corrections and we can take notes for the next groom. If changes are requested more than 24hrs after the grooming appointment, there will be an additional charge which may include a re-bathing fee.

Injuries

There is always the possibility of cuts, nicks, or burns during the grooming process. Some pets are harder to handle than others and accidents can occur. There are also times when mat burns show after they are shaved out. This is not caused by the groomer being careless, but the severity of the mats. We will always do an inspection of your pet upon arrival and in the bathtub. Your groomer will notify you of anything they find during those. Should any cuts occur during the grooming process, we will notify you and advise you on how to treat these. Injuries caused due to the condition of the dog or cats matting is NOT the responsibility of Just Paw Pet Services and any vet costs due to these are at the expense of the client.
